Many of the families I work with are interfaith, unaffiliated or simply looking for a Jewish experience that feels more personal than what they have found elsewhere.
You don't need to know exactly what your ceremony should look like before contacting me.
We'll talk about your family's background, traditions, comfort level and hopes for the day.
From there, I'll h elp you create something that honours Jewish tradition while genuinely reflecting the family standing before me.
A Bar or Bat Mitzvah doesn't have to take place inside a synagogue to be deeply Jewish, meaningful and unforgettable. Whether your family is gathering aboard a cruise, at a resort, on a beach, in Europe, in the Caribbean or somewhere else that holds special meaning for you, I can help you create a ceremony that feels rooted in Jewish tradition-and completely on your own.
What makes my approach different is continuity. I prepare your child personally and then travel with you to lead the ceremony. By the time we arrive at your destination, I'm not a stranger arriving to officiate. I know your child, your family and the journey that brought you there.
From the First Lesson to the Ceremony
Preparing for a B'nei Mitzvah is about much more than learning to chant Hebrew or memorizing a Torah portion. Over the. months we work together, I learn how your child learns, what helps them feel confident, what challenges them and what makes this milestone meaningful for them.
Preparation can take place virtually, making destination ceremonies possible for families throughout Canada, the United States and internationally.
Together we prepare:

Sometimes taking a ceremony outside of its traditional setting allows a family to discover what matters most.
Without the expectations of "how it's usually done", we can thoughtfully create a service around your family and the people who have travelled with you to celebrate.
A destination B'nei Mitzvah can become a shared family experience- days spent together, meals, conversation, adventures and finally, a Jewish milestone celebrated among the people who matter most.
More Than a Cantor...
Travel and group experiences have been an important part of my professional life for many years.
In addition to my work as a Jewish educator and Cantorial Soloist, I lead international meditation and wellness retreats. I've learned quickly that people can become a community together when they travel together- and how to create the warmth and connection that allows that to happen.
I bring that same sensibility to destination celebrations.
I am comfortable arriving somewhere new, meeting extended family and friends, working with hotel, resort or cruise staff, adapting when plans change and helping a group of people feel connected rather than simply assembled.
My background in music theatre and vocal performance, together with decades of cantorial and Torah-reading experience also brings a musical and engaging quality to the service itself.
The result is a ceremony that is Jewish and meaningful, but also warm, alive and genuinely connected to the people in the room.
